We often complain about the pathetic situation of the Muslim ummah. We talk about the fitna, disharmony, discord and strife within our households and communities. One of the main causes of the current situation is that people have become very judgmental due to which they do not hesitate in accusing others of all kinds of things without ascertain the truth behind the matter. In fact, the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم has compared accusation with killing others, associating partners with Allah and disobedience of parents because of common effects that are found in each of these activities.
Numerous verses of the Quran explicitly explain the necessity of ascertaining the truth before making judgements. The punishment of one who accuses someone without providing evidence is that his evidence is never accepted in the court of law or in the court of Allah. Both his dunya and akhira are affected. This talk elaborates, in detail, upon this severe destructive sin.
