Today's Islam is so much different from the Islam in the days of the Prophet (pbuh).
Take for instance the role of the mosque: the Prophet (pbuh) allowed Jews to participate in his gatherings and to depart freely as they willed; women came to the mosque for Fajr prayers; young Hasan and Hussein would crawl on the Prophet's back during the prayer; it was a used as a court as well as a place to medically treat those who were ill; it was a place for the destitute; a war-dance was once performed in the mosque courtyard, which the Prophet (pbuh) and Aisha (ra) observed. These are just a few issues that have lost their presence in the Muslim world of today. The lecture highlights on many other issues and then proposes a possible solution for reform .
