(0 reviews)
SKU: SKU752
With much emphasis placed on the ritualistic aspects of religion (prayer, fasting, Hajj etc), it is unfortunate that good manners and respectable social conduct which form an integral part of Islamic tradition have been overlooked. In every sphere of the Prophet's صلى الله عليه و سلم sunnah one is taught the value and importance of adopting good manners (Akhlaq) and noble etiquettes. It was this very akhlaaq of the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم and his companions that was most responsible for the spread of Islam.

SKU: SKU753

Contemporary society has created a very romantic, idealic, utopian and unrealistic picture of life. It is fuelling our ambitions and dreams, giving us false hopes, aspirations and setting almost impossible goals. Unfortunately, Muslim women have also been caught up in such lifestyles. As a result, we have lost our sense of purpose and sense of direction within life. Rather than being overpowered by such philosophies our entire life should exclusively be for the sake of Allah. Knowing where we have come from and where we are heading will enable us to channel our ambitions, dreams and aspirations and fulfil the correct objectives in life. This speech goes into great detail in explaining what goals and ambitions a Muslim woman should have in order to attain true success and the very objective of life.

Backbiting : A Form of Cannibalism

(0 reviews)
SKU: SKU756
The act of backbiting has been declared prohibited in Islam. This is the only religion which has declared it to be haram, however its nature is detested in all cultures. Yes, in this age, due to our pitiful state it is overlooked, but the word used to refere to the act 'backbiting' even in the English language, signifies its graveness. The Quran calls it cannibilism and the English language implies the same. The sin of backbiting is grave indeed and its consequences are very severe, yet we overlook or explain it away. Our excuses may appease those around us today but on the Day of Judgement we will be held to account. This talk explains what constitutes backbiting and what its consequences hold.

Unfortunately, we live in a time wherein delusion is very common and widespread. It has had an impact on our lives, our dealing with one another, our socialising with one another and most disturbing of all, our religion. The Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم advised, when you see four traits become common in the people concern yourself with yourself. From the four, one is that when every man capable of formulating an opinion is obsessed with his opionion, as this is a sign depicting the closeness of the Day of Judgement. This obsession stems from arrogance which leads to further delusion as one begins to hold all others in contempt. Verses of the Holy Quran make reference to this trait and these are commented upon with further relevance of how they are applicable today.
