This is a translation of the Mufti Muhammad Shafi' Uthmani’s (may Allah be pleased with him) books “Dil Ki Dunya” in a very clear and explicit form. Mufti Muhammad Shafi' the father of Mufti Taqi 'Uthmani was the Grand Mufti of Pakistan of his time.

The book traces the stages of Sufism. In origin, it was applied to religious knowledge and mystic life but, with time, innovation crept in and knowledge was ignored, and thus Sufism began to be misunderstood, whereas Sufism is a branch of religion.

This book not only defines Sufism (tasawwuf) but also deals with its basics and explains its terminology. Coming from the pen of Mufti Muhammad Shafi (may Allah hav emercy on him) it is an authoritative work. Opinions of many scholars are quoted by him and presented in this work.

This book is perfect for the novice and also lists the pitfalls on which an inexperienced person may stumble. An exhaustive glossary and a simple index are appended.
